Dictionary Word of the Day: Moiety
moiety \MOY-uh-tee\, noun:
1. One of two equal parts; a half.
2. An indefinite part; a small portion or share.
A new word to me.
I like the second definition better. Is that allowed?
Resolution 48. Resolved, constantly, with the utmost niceness and diligence, and the strictest scrutiny, to be looking into the state of my soul, that I may know whether I have truly an interest in Christ or not; that when I come to die, I may not have any negligence respecting this to repent of. May 26, 1723.

I love saying that word...
Me too. "Could I please have a moiety of your cupcake?" (Wishful thinking...)
This is a word I'm familiar with. For some reason it is used in biology a lot.
