QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

It's a record

Yesterday's snow set a record for the earliest measurable snowfall, logging in at 0.3 inches. The previous record was set on October 18, 1989 with 0.7 inches. This morning's Northwest Herald answers the pressing question: How did this happen?--"moisture and cold temperatures. "

Ok, so how DO they measure snow? I saw about 1.5" that had accumulated on a pumpkin in Cary, IL, outside the school building. Didn't seem far-fetched to me, considering the whiteout conditions we had experienced.

It was pretty, however much was measured. What a sweet little snow-leaf in your photo!

Carol!

I'm delighted that you left a comment!

To bad you didn't have a camera with you yesterday morning!

You know, I have no idea how they measure snow and what makes the official measurement official.

I'm glad you like the photo! There were snow-leaves all over the sidewalk and I thought they were so cute!

Wow! Great picture. Quite a juxtaposition. Autumn and winter all in the one picture.
