What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Psalm 119: Your Word is Truth

ב BETH

9 How can a young man cleanse his way?
By taking heed according to Your word.
10 With my whole heart I have sought You;
Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
11 Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.
12 Blessed are You, O LORD!
Teach me Your statutes.
13 With my lips I have declared
All the judgments of Your mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
As much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate on Your precepts,
And contemplate Your ways.
16 I will delight myself in Your statutes;
I will not forget Your word.

That "P" at the beginning of this lovely passage is art itself! I always love going into older churches because the people who built them did so to make the experience an aesthetically pleasing one to the worshipper and to God.

When the Old Testament talks about the tabernacle design, it documents how specific God was about what it was to look like.... :)

Thank you for noticing, and for reminding me that I should make note on the rest of the posts in this series that the image is a detail from the Book of Kells.
