Quote of the Week

Christian, believe this, and think on it: thou shalt be externally embraced in the arms of that love which was from everlasting, and will extend to everlasting-of that love which brought the Son of God’s love from heaven to earth, from earth to the cross, from the cross to the grave, from the grave to glory-that love which was weary, hungry, tempted, scorned, scourged, buffeted, spit upon, crucified, pierced-which did fast, pray, teach, heal, weep, sweat, bleed, die; that love will eternally embrace thee.

That is completely amazing. I'm speechless.
I don't think that we, as Christians, think enough upon the treasure that awaits us in Heaven, nor the lenghts to which God has gone to make it possible for us to stand in His presence in glory.
We're wrapping up the study of Sinclair Ferguson's A Christian Life in the next two weeks. The subjects of the final two chapters are death and heaven, so I have been thinking and reading and studying on this subject over the past few days. I, too, feel speechless in one way, but in another way I want to proclaim "the hope of His calling" to the mountaintops!
MissM,
If blogger ever lets me publish today's (Oct 29) prayer, you'll like it. It follows what we've been discussing here.

I am amazed by the raw strength of that love. A love that endured so much...
my mind can still not comprehend an eternity in that love!
One of my favorite quotes,Kim. Love this.
(By the way, went to Minocqua this weekend and had a fabulous time. Thought of you!) :)
