The House "A Christmas Story" Built

Yesterday, I heard over my car radio that someone had bought and restored the house that was used in the filming of "A Christmas Story." It was opened to the public for the first time yesterday. We lived in the Cleveland area and have been in the Tremont neighborhood once when Jake's high school baseball team played a team from Cleveland but we've never seen the house. I've always wanted to, though.

Our family loves that movie. We watch it every Christmas Eve. There are so many good one liners! I can't tell you the number of times Tom has announced, "Don't anybody move!"

Want a "leg lamp" to proudly display in your window? You can get one here. If you just want an ornament for the tree, you can find one here.

So, go check it out! I triple dog dare ya!

I love that movie, too. I love that when you say that your favorite Christmas movie is "A Christmas Story", sometimes people don't know what movie your refering to until you say "the one with the leg lamp", and then they know.

Cute post! Those ornaments are so...
different!
I do sort of like the bunny suit one at the bottom though!

Hi rebecca,

This morning one of my Sunday School students was talking about the movie (they had watched it as a family on Thanksgiving) and she described it as "you know, the movie with the boy with the dark, round glasses. . ."

Hi Sue,

I like the one of Randy all dressed up in his snow suit. ("I can't get up! I can't get up! Come back, guys, come ba--a--ack!")

yeah! We're between computers right now so I've been kind of lazy about posting, but I watched a local pbs show about local goings-on (is that a word?) and they were covering the opening of the house, we've been looking forward to this, there's a house in town with a leg lamp. ahhh.
hope you had a good Thanksgiving Kim! :)
P.S. If you're in town for any reason I think admission to the house is only $5....

We have been watching this movie for years. I guess it has become somewhat a 'tradition' for us. My favorite part though is when Ralphi has to wear the bunny suit :)...I know it is coming, but I have to laugh every time.
