Under the Weather
Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 03:44PM
We're under the weather in more ways than one at our house. We all have head colds that have progressed to chest colds. Yuck. Amazing how many boxes of Kleenex a family of four can go through in a couple of days!
We're also getting some strange weather today. Snow with thunder, rain with fog, rain, snow, ice, sleet--if it's precipitation of any kind it seems we've had some. It's a good day to snuggle up with the dogs and take a nap. Wish I had time. . .

Awww, hope you feel better soon!
Kim, I'm in IL as well. A good friend of momrn2. Where are you at? We're in Lake Villa. Bizzare storm today!
Brrrr. I just got off the couch to put the dogs out for the last time and it's like antarctica out there tonight. Blowing snow swirling all over the place! Mm your kids would love it!
Hi Heidi!
Welcome to my blog! I'm glad you've come! I'm in Crystal Lake. Haven't lived in Chicagoland too long. Is Lake Villa in the Greater Chicago area?
Hope you are all feeling better soon. If it's any consolation for you all, we too in the great Pacific Northwest are living in Antarctica. We do not have the blowing snow but how about temps in single digits with wind chills below zero? Does that count? BBBBRRRRR
Guess what, Kim....
I'm planning on taking my boys to the snow in our winter holidays here! Wahoo!
Do you have anymore snow pics?
Won't that be fun? They will be so amazed! I don't remember; have you ever seen snow?
Yes, I have lots of snow pictures from our last big snow in January. I'll post up a couple for you. I'll try to get out this morning and see if I can capture what it looks like here--it's strange. Very frigid looking--16 degrees with a wind chill of zero.
Hi momrn2,
That's really cold for your neck of the woods, isn't it? So, yes, that counts!
We get a blast this cold about once a year. We had one early on. It has just been so nice since then that this is painful. We have a pellet stove and an oil furnace running just to keep the house at 70. From the news sounds like everyone across the country is having a "good time" this morning. Some even more than me!
It will be great fun. We used to go skiing when I was a little girl. We would always make a snow man and name him Meltin. My dad would make skis for my dolls who I would place in the snow and take photos of. I would put sticks in their hair to hold their plaits out behind them so they looked like they were skiing very fast down the hill.
...oh, been called in to work. will continue this later. Thankyou for the pictures. I'll be back.
Kim, I'm Shannon's (Rocks In My Dryer) mom. In Arkansas we're forecasted to get some of that same weather tonight and tomorrow...good book reading, Olympics watching, needleworking, dog patting weather! I enjoy your sites!
Hi Shannon's Mom!
Welcome! I'm glad you came and visited! I really do enjoy Shannon's blog. You have a very funny and talented daughter!
I'll bet the two of you have a good time visiting and sharing each others' lives! I think it would be so much fun if my mom or sister had a blog! (I've been hinting to my sister for a while to get a blog and I need to get my mom on the computer before I can talk her into it!)
I look forward to checking out your blog!
