High School in a Whole Different Millennium
It's Get Real Monday. Here is my contribution to Randi's request for high school pictures.
I had to go to my yearbooks to find pictures of myself in high school! I don't have very many pictures of me before I was married--my mom still has them, I think--I hope!!
Here's a picture of me and my future husband, Tom. We had been dating about 6 months at that point; can you see the stars in my eyes?
This is me in our school play, Inherit the Wind, my sophomore year.
When I think of how easy it was to scan, crop, and upload these pictures from my yearbook with today's technology, I had to laugh when I found this picture of myself croping with the old red plastic tool and the black grease paint pen.

Hi Kim,
I'm here from Randi's! Thanks for sharing the photos. The picture of you and your husband is so sweet!
And check out his sideburns! ;)
I'm over here from Randi's, too. It's been really fun looking back with everyone.
Whoa--look at those pants! Too fun!
BTW, I had some experience with the grease pencil way of cropping. Sure prefer the new technology!
You look great! Thank you so much for your prayers today. They have helped so much when most of me wants to go back to bed and just cover up. It's a gorgeous day here, yet I feel like I'm under a dark cloud. I truly appreciate your prayers and kind words.
Ahh, bell bottoms... Back in style, babe.... Back in style!
Love the sweet innocent dress in the first photo.
Stop by to see mine.
Hi Sue! Thanks for visiting and for the nice comments! You, too, momma m!
I've heard that he had sideburns like that when he was 12 or 13!
Randi,
I'm pretty sure I had bell bottoms that were even wider than that! They were also hip huggers, believe it or not!
Oh, peach. You and momrn2 have been in my thoughts and prayers off and on all day.
I hope that things will brighter soon. In the meantime, look to Him Who is the Light:
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
gibee,
You're kidding? Are they really back in style?
I was just thinking I'd get a pair of those cute cropped pants this spring. . .are they OUT of fashion now?
(hehehe)
Hi Better Full Than Empty,
Thanks for stopping by Hiraeth! I'm glad you're here a nd that you left a comment!
Yes, that was an innocent dress and I was (and in many ways still am) an innocent girl. (You can't get to be 50 without seeing enough of the world to break your heart a few times, though)
I tried to visit your blog but it timed out. I'll try again later.
You are just absolutely adorable in these photos!
Those pants are great, Kim! You were (and probably still are) a funky woman!
kate
Bell bottoms!! Your look was so in style then! Diggin his tux too! :)
Allyson, you know me in "real life". . .could you tell I was giggling uncontrollably in the last picture? It was a staged picture for the yearbook (I was editor and we needed another picture on the Thespian page quick) and the student photographer was very provoked with me for laughing.
Great pictures--you are absolutely adorable in your prom picture! XO, Jill
Love the dress. Had a couple like them over the years myself.
My one and only pair of bell bottoms that I have memory of were baby blue and hip huggers. No midriff tops though.
Now I have too much middle to even dream of hip huggers!!
Oh I love each and every one of these pics!! I remember some of them!!
I missed this post yesterday. I'm so glad you did it, how cute you were! Still are probably, but that you don't let up know. ;-)
