Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Bakker, Frans.
Okay, this guy is amazing. (And, if his self portraits are accurate he was hot when he was young.) How come his name hasn't rung any bells for me? He's like a lesser-known or something.
Yay for the Rhino! I DO love it and so do my boys. The detail is amazing and I love that it looks as though it is wearing armour. It's like God's knight. I love it.
Carol, I'm going back to see if Druer really was hot when he was younger! Ha!
Young Hare is the first Durer work that caught my attention and caused me to explore his other works, so it will always be my favorite.
Carol,
He was not lesser known during his lifetime, nor is he to the art community but I think because of our shallow, surface treatment of the Renaissance, he is often overlooked.
Kim,
I love birds, too. Birds and bunnies.
Kate,
You might like Durer's Walrus. He is stylized as well--kind of reminds me of a Dr. Suess character.
Sadly, Durer in my humble opinion is not hot. His hair is lanky and he looks sullen and dirty. There was a time when I would have gone for the long haired melancholy but those days are gone. Poor Durer being scrutinised so. I'm sure he was a lovely guy...

Those are all exquisite! I think I like the little owl the best, but I can't decide!
I recognize the Hare.

I just love the birds. I love pictures of all birds. The rhino is pretty cool, too.

The boys will definitely be enchanted.
Oh, and do you think he was hot? ;)
These are beautiful! Durer is one of my favorite artists. I've never seen a couple of these.
Hi Tim's Mom!
Glad to meet another Durer fan! Thanks for leaving a comment!
