Blue Skies in January

house in jan 07.jpg

It's been an unbelievably mild winter so far.  Today it is sunny and crisp with the bluest sky I've seen in a long time.  This picture was taken without filters of any kind.  The sky really is that color today!

Is that your house? It's BEAUTIFUL! It's gorgeous and mild here, but it fills me with forboding, like it should be -30 and snow up to my armpits for me to be comfortable in January.
You know, I'd thought that I'd updated your address in my bloglines, but nope. That's fixed now - your new site is great!

Yep. That's our little bungalow.

I know how you feel about the foreboding feeling. I keep wondering when we are going to wake up to winter with a vengence here in Chicagoland.

Thanks for updating your bloglines, Beck! I feel a little lonely over here. It takes a while before everyone makes their way over to the new spot. It's nice to have such a nice comment!

The same here - disturbingly mild. Pepe just went to pee in the garden, and I was with him - in t-shirt and with bare feet! No snow, no ice - even the fields are wet and muddy and squashy.

Lovely picture, Kim!

Our winter has been cold and snowy so far but we still have a lot of blue sky, so that makes it OK!

Well now that I have caught a clue and changed the link in my favorites, I'll be here at the new Hiraeth regularly! Your home is beautiful, as is that sky. Enjoying the daily Spurgeon, too, thank you for posting him! Happy New Year! :)

Oh my goodness....
You live in a storybook cottage!

I love it...but you know that...I just love anything you show us at your house...paint, trees, dogs...sky...

I want to come and live across the street...then I can look out the window and see your house and then knock on your door and go for a walk :o)

Wouldn't it be fun to live across the street from each other?

You could knock on my door to take a walk and then come in for a cup of tea!

Wouldn't that be loverly?

A gorgeous sky. (And a private pilot's dream!)

We have been experiencing a mild winter here in PA, too. This morning, at 7am the temperature was 54F! We're looking at the 60s for Saturday.

When I saw your house, this line came into my head: "Is that absolutely where you live? I LOVE IT!"

It's from the Great Gatsby (with Robert Redford, Mia Farrow and Sam Waterston) and it was said in the exact inflection of Daisy Buchanan. (I should let you know, Kim, that my entire life could be lived through lines from that movie, the Great Gatsby. If my only selection of statements were to be taken from that movie, I would still have a lot to say...).

Anyway, it's true. I LOVE IT!

Aw, that's very kind of you!
