What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Christianity is the true worship and service of the true God, humankind’s Creator and Redeemer. It is a religion that rests on revelation: nobody would know the truth about God, or be able to relate to him in a personal way, had not God first acted to make himself known. But God has so acted, and the sixty-six books of the Bible, thirty-nine written before Christ came and twenty-seven after, are together the record, interpretation, expression, and embodiment of his self-disclosure. God and godliness are the Bible’s uniting themes.

Giving Thanks in November

My father-in-law had surgery today; the second one in six weeks.  The first was a knee replacement back in September and today he had a hip replacement.  I've just heard that he got through the surgery with flying colors and with a very good result.  The surgeon told my mother-in-law that it was the worst hip he had ever seen, and he's seen a lot!

I'm so thankful today that this is behind him now, or will be once he's through with his rehab.  Already he has experienced improvement in his mobility with the knee replacement and now with the new hip, he should be able to move around easier and with much less pain.

I'm thankful for all the doctors and nurses, procedures and instruments, medications and therapies that are making such a huge difference for my father-in-law and so many others!  I'm especially grateful to God for sustaining him and giving him strength and courage and the determination to get through this!

I'm so glad your father-in-law is doing well, too.
