What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

All the purposes of man have been defeated, but not the purposes of God. The promises of man may be broken—many of them are made to be broken—but the promises of God shall all be fulfilled. He is a promise-maker, but He never was a promise-breaker; He is a promise-keeping God, and every one of His people shall prove it to be so. This is my grateful, personal confidence, "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me"—unworthy me, lost and ruined me.

Charles Spurgeon, A Defense of Calvinism

Giving Thanks in November

100_4621-crop%202.jpg

Almost all the leaves have fallen--finally!  It's been a strange year for leaves; most years we've been finished with raking and bagging by this time.

By the end of the day, our leaves will have been blown and raked into piles and stuffed into bags.  I hope I can say the same thing for our neighbors' leaves.

But for now, this morning, our neighborhood is carpeted  in bright yellow maple leaves under stark, bare limbs and it is a beautiful, riotous mess.

I'm thankful for the change of seasons and the beauty of God's creation.

Hi Kim,
Just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to you. I finally figured out how I can view your pictures. They don't show up at all in Firefox but do in IE. The leaves are beautiful
