Giving Thanks in November
This morning, I got up, threw on my robe and slippers, and shuffled to the thermostat. I am thankful for the soft, distant rumble as the furnace kicked on for the first time this season.
When I snapped on the lamp post this morning to retrieve the newspapers and let Eve outside, I was enchanted by the sparkles of frost leaping from the dark, dawnless morning. The light from our small lamp post glittered back at me from across the street. I am thankful for the beauty of reflected light.
I'm thankful for Doug's video post on feet. (Yes, feet!) I think you will be, too!
I'm grateful that, even with the seasonable temperatures we are now experiencing, Indian Summer still awaits. Have you seen the poem on Indian Summer that Kyle left in the comments? It's my Poetry Friday entry for today. I'm grateful for a generous young friend who took time to share something personal from his life just because he thought I would like it. I did and I do!
As I type this, I'm enjoying the soundtrack of the Pirates of the Caribbean from the other room. Sam is taking an Algebra test and he enjoys listening to music as he works. I am grateful that he loves instrumental music and soundtracks. Even though I sometimes weary of hearing the same rollicking tunes from Indiana Jones over and over (and over) I'm thankful that his preference in music is not dictated by his peers!
I'm grateful for this JC Ryle article on Prayer. How marvelous it is to be invited into the throne room of our Holy God!
Rebecca from Rebecca Writes (queen of blog round-ups!) is rounding up all of our November Thanksgiving posts this month. If you want your thankful thoughts to be included, add a link in your post to Rebecca's blog so she can find it or send her an email with your link!

I liked reading this because November is always such a grim time for me - it's a good reminder to be grateful and to look for happiness.
