What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Giving Thanks in November

Thank God every day when you get up that you have something to do that day which must be done whether you like it or not. Being forced to work and forced to do your best will breed in you temperance and self-control, diligence and strength of will, cheerfulness and content, and a hundred virtues which the idle will never know. -- Basil Carpenter

Whether I like it or not, I need to do laundry and clean house and run errands.  I thank God for this and I pray that He will use it to cultivate in me  "temperance and self-control, diligence and strength of will, cheerfulness and content, and a hundred virtues which the idle will never know."

Wonderful quote. May those words be true in me, too!

I've linked to your blog about being thankful.
This is a searching quote, reading it made me appreciate being able to do what needs to be done too - not everyone is physically able to do so.
