Pensieve's Poetic License: Cinquain
It's time again for Pensieve's Poetic License. This month's challenge is to write a cinquain. The theme is celebration but, as always, the rule is "No Rules. Just Write."
I've written three; one for each of the techniques that Robin described in the challenge post.
Joy
heart-felt, inward
lifting, singing, dancing,
O, my soul, give thanks!
Rejoice.
Adelaide Crapsey Form:
Christmas Eve
Worship
With reverence
Hearts filled with joy and peace
The Prince of Peace, the Son of God
Come near
Read-Write-Think form:
Jesus
Savior, Shepherd
coming, living, dying
Light of the World, Immanuel
True Light
You can share your cinquain(s) or read some lots more at this month's cinquain gathering at Pensieve.
Haven't written yours yet? You've still got time!

Those are spiffy little poems!
I love writing poetry but I'm oddly intimidated by formal verse structures. I'm such a chicken.
good job. You must have been an over achiever!
I really like the first one. (and the second...and hey - the third as well) Good job!
Kim, what's interesting to me is you've taken two poetic forms over the past two months and written verse that, in just a few lines, is substantive and beautiful. I typically think of limerick and cinquain as poem-light, but you've changed my thinking :).
BTW, I finally got my own written very late last night...and I decided to do what you did--three different forms. Gosh, you're a girlie-Q of influence :).
