What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Sunday Hymn: Joy to the World

Joy to the World

Joy to the world! the Lord is come:
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare him room,
And heaven and nature sing.

Joy to the earth! the Saviour reigns:
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make his blessings flow
Far as the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of his righteousness,
And wonders of his love.

isn't this just a nice Christmas classic?

Did you know this was not originally written as a Christmas song? We should sing it all year; however, it's so connected now with December 25 that it would feel odd to sing it in the middle of summer.

I really am feeling lots of joy and wonder this year. A very Merry Christmas to you and yours even though I've probably said that with every comment for the last week :)
