What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

An interesting quote

"Sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

Lewis Carroll

This quote caught my attention this morning.  For one thing, it's sort of comical. For another, if you think about it for 30 seconds, you will see that it is profound.  I'll share my thoughts on it, but I'd like to hear your thoughts, too.

What comes to your mind when you read this quote?

When your feet hits the floor in the morning and your off and running into your day, what are your first thoughts or actions? Do you seek God's will for your day or do you go to the TV or newspaper for your food for thought? Do you seek God when you have the time, only when you need Him later in the day or do you ask Him, "Well, Lord, today is another day in my walk with You. Thank you for even allowing me to wake up this morning! What, Father, is Your will for me this day? How may I serve and glorify You? Take me into this day with my eyes upon You and not upon this world. Allow me to have my eyes wide open to see Your hand move. I walk with You this day Lord, lighten my path and give me direction. May I glorify You in all I say and do. Amen!" Then you have started your day with Him and not with the world. Do I always do this? No, but I try hard. I spend some time with Him before I even get out of bed and my day starts off much the better. Otherwise you are feeding on the world news, having that into your mind, the Lord is second when you are ready when He should be first and foremost. This is where my thoughts went with this Kim. Another deep thinking post. Thanks for the wake-up call.

Impossible things:
1. I can stay here.
2. I don't have to get up.
3. No, I want to get up.
4. I don't have to do the treadmill.
5. I'm going to go antiquing today.
6. No, I want to do the treadmill.

After all that's settled, I get on to the serious business of thoughtfully approaching my day according to God's purposes. With a wonderfully steaming cup of strong coffee, made by my husband, as I read.

when I first thought about this statement I decided I live in too little of a box! I need to think the impossible more and move myself and my God out of my little box!!!

Thanks for answering, Ladies!

I hope that others will still answer this one! Saturday morning in the springtime is not the best time to post an "audience participation" post.

My first thought was an action--to smile :). And then I thought..."ahhhh, yes, I'd like to belive at least six impossible thoughts every day!..."
