What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

They're Heeeere

When I went out for the paper in my barefeet this morning , this guy was waiting for me on my front steps.  I'm guessing he may have just emerged from his old skin because he was very still and seemed weak and not quite ready to fly.  After I got my snaps, I gently poked him with a stick to see if I could get him to fly.  He wasn't ready.

You are the only person I know who carries her camera along to pick up the paper! ;-)))))
Keep your eyes on the tree bark and you probably will see one emerge. Did your girls find them yet? Our dogs love to play with them! Have a wonderful day in the Lord.

Aiyiyi! You should post a disclaimer regarding disturbing images! That is one BIG cicada! I love the story of the cicadas, but it honestly takes me steeling myself up to nerve central to stand to be that close to one. I know, wimp!

I hate cicadas. We have 8 more years before they come out again here, thank goodness. maybe I'll go away that summer or something! Last time, I was sitting at the kitchen table at my dad's one day, and I felt something tickle my ankle. I looked down, and a HUGE cicada was crawling out of the cuff of my jeans! It must have gotten there when I was walking around outside. I screamed bloody murder, shook it loose, and sucked it up in the house's central vac. Thunk! I shuddered for days afterwards. . .

I LOVE cicadas!!!!! They are beautiful creatures: such delicate wings, bejeweled heads, amazing colours and they are of course the sound of summer!

Thanks for the pic. It's warmed up my freezing cold winter night! Brrrrr! I was made for summer! Enjoy it for me!!!!
