Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Feed Speed Reader

Here's a guy who's subscribed to over 600 feeds in Google Reader (my new favorite feed reader).  Want to see how (and why) he does it?

I'm following between 40 and 50 blogs right now.  How many do you read?

WOW! 40-50 - I'm impressed! I keep up with 10-12 on a good day - I don't have a good internet connection at home, so I try to only view/comment/write blog stuff at work when I'm taking a legitimate break. It's too hard otherwise!! :)

Oh my. I'm baffled by 40-50, let alone 600. I have 19 on Bloglines, all inclusive, and only keep up (pretty well) with 8. I'm clearly a weakling. A really busy weakling.

But see what an elite group you're in????

I love Google reader--so much better than bloglines. I currently have 290 blogs in my google reader. But the number that I actually read is WAY smaller than that. I also know that many are dead feeds, but I do not take the time to remove them--I let them just rest in peace in the reader they aren't hurting anyone.

On average I probably actually read less than 1/2 of the posts that get sent to the reader.

I scan titles and skim some posts. If a post is interesting, I star it. If it would be something I want to share with someone I simply "share it." And, if interesting enough, I open in a new tab, and if I still have time left when done skimming and scanning my reader, I leave comments on the blog posts that are open in the tabs.

However, I also have NO problem whatsoever "marking all as read" if I get backlogged or too many at once time.

I just watched the beginning of the video, where he talks about imprinting--it looks very interesting...

I keep up with 21 blogs very well--unless I miss a few days; then I play catch-up and it feels a little too stressful for me. So I try to check bloglines several times throughout the day, usually when I check my email.

I know there are SO MANY blogs out there that I would enjoy, but I'm limiting myself to 21; that number works just right for me. I may switch some in and out, too.

Fun post, Kim! XO

I'm looking for something other than bloglines.
I need to check out the Google reader. Right now I have over 100 that I follow and comment on quite faithfully.

Oh my, I currently have 40 blogs on my reader--I can't imagine 600!

I love GoogleReader!!! I'm so glad I made the switch from Bloglines. I subscribe to over one hundred sites. They range from news and political commentary to moms with babies.

I've got a hundred in my bloglines, but I only comment on maybe 40-50 of those - and NOT everyday. It's unweildy, though.

I read 7 blogs faithfully every day and if I have time I have about 5or 6 more that I look at occasionally.I just recently deleted a bunch that I found uninteresting and hardly ever read. Trying to keep up with too many is too stressful and takes up too much time. I don't want to sit in front of the computer all day long. So I narrowed my list down to only my absolute favorites.
