What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Inconceivable

I read this morning that one of my favorite movies, The Princess Bride,  is 20 years old!  Can you believe it?

Have you seen it?  It's one of our family's favorite, and most quoted films.  In fact, I think it is one of the most quotable films ever made.

 Here's a few we like:

"Let me 'splain. . . No, there is too much.  . . Let me sum up."

"We are men of action; lies do not become us."

"And our assets?"

"There's not a lot of money in revenge."

“When I was your age, television was called books.”

Do you have a favorite quote from Princess Bride?  Leave a note in the comments and I'll post them up here.

This has been done before so if you want to scrounge around for some great PB quotes, you can find some here. (Thanks, Rebecca)

"The Princess Bride" is on my top 5 list of all-time favorite movies! I think my kids (all young adults) know the entire script by heart. So many great quotes...such a funny, whimsical and engaging story. Movies like that don't come along very often!

My favorite is, "Have fun storming the castle!"

We LOVE this movie, and introduced our daughters to it very early after we adopted them (who had precious little English under their belts at the time, which I'm sure made it even MORE bizarre!)

My favorites:

"I do not think that word means what you think it does."

"As you wish"

"Have fun storming the castle!" I tell my husband this frequently as he is leaving for work!

"Boo, boo, boo, boo..." (remember the scraggly old lady in Buttercups dream?)

Oh, there are sooooo many more!!

After all the bloggage today about this movie, I felt like we needed to watch it after school today. Here's another great line: "You've been mostly dead all day."

"What about the R-O-U-S's? Rodents of Unusual Size? I don't believe they exist".
My daughter Katie's contribution! blessings.

I LOVE this movie!! I just looked up something about it the other day because of somethign else that triggered it ...

My favorites are:

"Good night, Westley, sleep well, I'll probably kill you in the morning."

"You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!"

"Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something."

[Did I tell you I LOVE this movie? :)]

"Wuv...twue wuv."

"I'm on the brute squad." - "You ARE the brute squad!"

"Inconthievable!"

"He's gaining on you!" - "He's not carrying three people on his back!"

"To the pain!" - "I don't believe I'm familiar with that term."

---Some of my favorites were already listed...but my husband and I have watched it so many times, we almost have every line memorized!

Ooooh, all those quotes are sooo good!
I love this movie too!
In addition to the ones already mentioned, just some of the ones I like are:

"Are those rocks ahead?"
"If they are we'll all be dead."

"Stop that rhyming now I mean it!"
"Does anybody want a peanut?"

=D
