Hashing it out
As anyone who has read my blog for any length of time has surely noticed; the content has woefully declined. There are many reasons for this, not the least of which is homeschooling a high schooler. Between schooling, bookmarks, laundry, yardwork, and countless other daily activities, updating my blogs has slipped down the list of things to do.
As a natural outcome of the decline of substative posts, there has been a corresponding downward slump in my stats. I understand that. I'm very grateful for the handful of faithful visitors that continue to check in at Hiraeth every day. I am hopeful that as our homeschooling slips into a more managable routine and the outdoor chores slow up after the leaves have all been bagged and windows washed, I can get back into blogging.
In the meantime, with my slim stats, it's been easy to notice an "alarming" trend in referrals to this blog. A full 20 per cent of all referrals in the past week have come from people googling (or msn-ing, yahoo-ing or aol-ing) "recipe for corned beef hash." Since I posted the recipe on Saint Patrick's Day, I have had a steady stream of referrals for the recipe, but as they were mixed in with many other referrals, I didn't fully realize how many there really were!
There are SO many hits to that post that I've wondered if "recipe for corned beef hash" is really a covert way of searching for illicit drugs or something!!
Can corned beef hash really be that popular? heheheh

Well, I still visit here daily and I haven't once read your recipe for corned beef hash. I had no idea I was missing out on a Hiraeth must-read.
My stats have dropped lately, too...I'm guessing it's because I've mostly posted about my reading of Ryle and Ewards. I'm not sure I've left a comment, Leslie, but I've been reading along. Good stuff!
Hmmmmm.... it does pose the question. Now, if someone starts looking for hash brownies, you'll know exactly what they're looking for.
Well, they'd be disappointed in my recipe if that's what they are looking for! : D
I even get queries for "recipe for corned beef hash." That brings them into the page where I link to your recipe. Really? That's wild!
Come now, who DOESN'T love corned beef hash?
:-)
We love it for breakfast and homemade is definitely the BEST
I don't know if I've ever HAD corned beef hash. Maybe I should, if it's that much of a draw.
It's different, but worth trying. My mom always used to serve it with a fried egg on top and toast on the side. Good stuff.
I just thought you were completely worn out due to the crazy Cubs comeback games - it is Sept 22 and they are still in 1st place! Can they hold on 1 more week?
Yes, baseball definitely factors in! And yes, I am absolutely hopeful that the Cubbies will win their division (like the Tribe). The Brewers lost today; the Cubbies won--I'm definitely dreaming of a Cleveland/Chicago World Series!
Now I've got a hankering for corned beef hash! I may try to make it for our upcoming camping trip. Wouldn't that be delish for a breakfast?
Kim,
I'm a faithful reader, corned beef hash or not. But I hear you on the stats thing - sometimes it's a little discouraging, but then again, I have to ask myself if I would even want to visit MY OWN blog on a daily basis. lol
I confess--I would never in my life come here for corned beef hash. In fact, I will not go anywhere for corned beef hash. I will however come here for the posts of truth and holding a high view of God. Not corned, not beef, and most certainly not hash!
My hubbie likes corned beef hash...does that count? :)
Most definitely NOT here for corned beef hash...and while I'm quite certain your recipe has all the makings of a classic, I'll pass and instead go for the most substantive offerings in the Cheque book...
