What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Blog withdrawal

I feel like I've been playing hooky!

I've taken blog breaks before, but even so, there were always the daily devotionals to post up, so I had at least some interaction with my blog, however minimal.

This is my first post since Sunday.   My first post in my "A Year of Letters" requires some pretty fancy penwork (which is still in process and has proved to be harder than I thought it would be) and I still need to get back to a friend with an estimate on some bookmarks, so this is it for today.  (However, I will be posting up the winner in the Bookmark Promotion shortly after noon CST!)

I'm having a nuclear stress test this afternoon, so no caffeine.  No coffee, no tea, no chocolate, no Excedrin for my Excedrin headache which will inevitably come without my daily dose of coffee.  I feel it coming on already.  Sigh.

Anyway, prayers would be appreciated.  I've had these tests in the past and they are grueling.   I'm not looking forward to it.

Have missed your posts - but you deserve a break!!

Can you tell me what a nuclear stress test is? I don't think we have that term here, so I'm just wondering....so I can pray intelligently for you!

Blessings

Hi Naomi,

The condition I have is called Mitral Valve Regurgitation.

"A nuclear stress test measures blood flow to your heart muscle at rest and during stress. It is performed similar to a routine exercise stress test but provides images in addition to electrocardiograms.

During a nuclear stress test, a radioactive substance is injected into your bloodstream. This substance mixes with your blood and travels to your heart. A special scanner — which detects the radioactive material in your heart — creates images of your heart muscle. Inadequate blood flow to any part of your heart will show up as a light spot on the images — because not as much of the radioactive substance is getting there."

I have a fairly significant amount of regurgitation which causes frequent arrhythmias.

I'm sorry - I hope the tests pass quickly and you're back home and comfortable soon. You're in my prayers.

The only thing worse than blog withdrawals is caffeine withdrawals. Hope your test goes well and I'm praying for you now. :)

Soo...how are you?
Well, I survived! : D

It wasn't as bad as the last time I had to do this, thankfully. Now we wait for the results.

Still praying.

I read this after the fact. So glad the test was less grueling than before, though I'm sure it was still tough. Rest easy, Kim, in the peace of the Lord while you wait for the results. We all hope they're good.
