1. I believe that God, since the creation of His world, has plainly revealed through the things He has made His eternal power and divine nature, and the requirements of His law, so that there is no excuse for unbelief or disobedience on the part of any man; yet however glorious this revelation, it is not sufficient to give that knowledge of God, and of His will, which is necessary for salvation.
I agree with B.B. Warfield and Romans 1:
Romans 1:19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Every small child who stands alone after dark in the quiet of a soft, summer night or gazes out the window of the family car at night, watching the stars go speeding by knows there is a God. In the waiting, listening quiet of the heart even a child knows there is Someone in this world; so big and so powerful, so huge and so awesome; too distant to be reached and yet still near enough to hear her beating heart. . .and see.
All by herself, even a child knows.
Even a small child knows enough to look around before taking something that doesn't belong to her or to put the lid of the cookie jar back as quietly as possible.
All by herself, even a child knows.
Even a small child knows when she is caught that she did wrong.
And even when she isn't caught, even a child knows.
Excuses and "I'm sorry's" just aren't enough.
Even a child knows.

So wonderfully written, Kim.
I'm going to print this out and pin it on my noticeboard. Good to be reminded of these things.
This is beautiful.
