What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Giving Thanks in November

You know those jobs you just hate to do? We all have them. For me, it's sifting the litter box. It's a nasty job. Today I dumped out the litter box and scrubbed it clean and put all new litter in it. Yuck.

Buster could care less. Totally unappreciative.  Unlike most cats, he doesn't mind a dirty litter box.

But I have a sense of accomplishment. I did something I didn't want to do. So now I'm glad the litter box is clean but more than that, I'm glad I just buckled down and did it.

Feels good. I'm thankful that sometimes the bad jobs make you feel good when they are done and done well.

Those are the kind of jobs I am thankful when I can talk someone else into doing them. I'll trade off some kinds of jobs rather than doing them. I'm grateful my husband would rather do the smelly jobs and let me do the other tasks that he doesn't like to do!

One job that I dislike very much is folding socks...don't know why, I just don't like it though. I made myself sit down the other day and fold every single pair. Felt much better when that job was done!

I know what you mean, Kim! My ironing pile stacks up and when I finally do it, I feel like I can take the rest of the day off! (Usually, it's the end of the day anyway...).
