QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

A Return to life B.G.

Over the past few weeks, I have had a very hard time keeping up with my blog subscriptions. Real life has been quite busy and it's been all I can do to keep up with all the things I HAVE to do, let alone the things I want to do. So I've been toying with the idea of taking an extended break--not just from reading blogs, but from the internet altogether.

I find I don't have the same concentration and ability to stick to a task. I drift from chore to chore, doing a little bit here, a little bit there. It takes me twice as long to clean my house and, well, we're not going to talk about how long it takes me to get my laundry done.  I read a little bit here, I skim a little bit there, I look at pictures. Like my friend from PEI, Kathie, I want to read but nothing has really captured my attention of late. I feel restless.

So. after I unravel the mess I made of my book meme and tidy up a few things, I'm going to take a break from blog reading and from the internet in general. I'll continue to post my weekly alphabet and Sunday hymn. I'll change my weekly quote. If we have a blizzard, you can bet I'll be writing about that (or anything else I want to chronicle for my family or remember later). I'll be checking my email everyday. (I need a break but let's not be silly!")

For the foreseeable future, I'm going to try returning to life B.G. (before Google)

I'll miss you, but I bet you'll get a lot more done!

I'll be doing the same - just blogging when I can. I have a busy time coming up with family, church, cantata, friends, - lots of fun but very full days! Come Jan., (when Sarah leaves on her mission trip *sniff*) I'll have lots of time to blog :)

I know what you mean about not begin able to stick to a task but I treat my own blog as a journal ... and I'm simply a faster typer than writer! While I could stand to cut back on reading and commenting, I can't stop putting my thoughts and experiences down on paper ether. Whether or not anyone reads, it's for me.

Blessed Christmas.

I understand completely, and it sounds very wise. I might as well quit posting, though; you are my main reader! :)

Blessings,

Oh, this is so where I'm living right now. I keep thinking of the post you did a while back after J's procedure where you wrote something like, "I just hit mark all as read so if anything really big happened in your life, let me know."

I'm almost there baby. I've never skimmed like I do through some blogs. And I've given myself permission to delete the ones I don't absolutely love! Rock on. We're here when you come back.
