What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Hiraeth

My friend, Ann, is writing some special "Welsh themed" posts in honor of St David's Day.  (St. David being the patron Saint of Wales)

She linked to a wonderful YouTube video.  If you listen very carefully, the narrator pronounces the word hiraeth (just after she says that homesickness is too weak a word for the longing to return home).  Just hearing it brought tears to my eyes.

I guess that response must be hiraeth; for my family, for my hometown,  for that which I have never seen. . .like a Christian yearning for heaven.

You can read more about the name of my blog at this post--"All this"

Oh I love it! It sounds like a word from Middle Earth.
