What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

All the purposes of man have been defeated, but not the purposes of God. The promises of man may be broken—many of them are made to be broken—but the promises of God shall all be fulfilled. He is a promise-maker, but He never was a promise-breaker; He is a promise-keeping God, and every one of His people shall prove it to be so. This is my grateful, personal confidence, "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me"—unworthy me, lost and ruined me.

Charles Spurgeon, A Defense of Calvinism

Meditations for Holy Week from Handel's Messiah

Why do the nations so furiously rage together?
Psalm 2:1,2 (Acts 4:25-26)

Why do the heathen rage, and why do the people imagine a vain thing?

The kings of the earth rise up, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against His Anointed,

Let us break their bonds asunder

Psalm 2:3

Let us break their bonds asunder, and cast away their yokes from us.

He that dwelleth in heaven
Psalm 2:4

He that dwelleth in the heavens shall laugh them to scorn; the Lord shall have them in derision.

Thou shalt break them

Psalm 2:9

Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

Hallelujah
Revelation 19:6

Hallelujah! for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

Revelation 11:15

. . . the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ: and He shall reign for ever and ever.

Revelation 19:16
. . . KING OF KINGS, LORD OF LORDS.
