What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Watching the Time

Watch manufacturers must have fallen on hard times.  Everywhere you look in this society, you see the time.  Cell phones, dashboards, computers, palms, receipts, home theatre components, the Weather Channel--you name it--if you look around, it won't take you long to find out what time it is--without wearing a watch.

Perhaps that explains the inordinate amount of spam I get in my junk folder:  Replica Watches, Cartier Replicas, Genuine watches, Authentic watches, Timepieces, Replica Timepieces, Classic Timepieces; every time I check my junk folder I'm offered watches of all sorts.

Which brings me to the question of the day:  Do any of you wear a watch on your wrist for the sole purpose of knowing what time it is?

I confess I haven't worn a watch regularly since I stopped teaching preschool in '94 and even then, I only wore one so I'd know what time I needed to line the kids up and bring them in from recess.

Haven't worn a watch in forever. But, I must admit, from time to time, I have wondered what time it was...

I just do not wear watches and know very, very few people who do. Poor neglected watch industry!

Oh I'm a watch wearer. My peculiarity though is I'm a righty that wears a watch on my right wrist instead of my left wrist--a side effect from an IV that went wrong years ago and makes wearing anything that rubs on my left wrist uncomfortable.

Since I've had a cell phone for less than a year, I'm habitually obsessed with checking the time--on my watch.

I have a very pretty watch - but I rarely wear it.

I usually am wondering what time it is. And I'm always surprised . . .

BTW - I received your Pooh poster - thank you so much!! It's standing guard on my fridge door!

I would feel naked if I hadn't my watch on :-)

Sorry - I only take mine off to shower!!

Too much information - I know!

I wear a watch most of the time. I have at least four different styles from plain to dressy, even a Christmas one, but all inexpensive.
Some of us have to wear a watch, because sometimes someone will ask, "Can you tell me what time it is?" ;)

What's a watch?

I do - I wear a two-tone (silver color and gold color on the band) Citizens watch that I've had for more than 10 years. It has a second hand and a date feature (that I often forget to reset after an odd month).

I also have a gold-tone watch that doesn't have a date feature, but I rarely wear it because I usually wear things for which silver color is a better accessory.

I'd like to be more up to date in my accessories, but I don't have time..... ;) (Pun intended!)

I wear my watch every day and, like mummymac, I feel naked without it. I do take it off every night before I go to bed but next morning, it is right back on. And I know I am very old fashioned in this but I only like the kind with an actual face. No digital watch for me, thank you very much.

I wear a watch when I'm out and about, but not at home. I don't like having to check the time on my cell phone. And I agree with Dorothy--no digital for me either!

I spent 10 years working in radio -- on-air, so I developed the habit of NEEDING to know what time it was, down to the second. After leaving the business in 1990, I couldn't leave the watch behind. But somewhere, I've lost that need. I haven't worn a watch in probably 10 years. My time is told via cell phone anymore.

I'm with Dorothy. I always were my analog watch.

I wear a watch. Couldn't do without! And people can't understand why I'm wearing it around my right wrist with the clock part on the palm-side of my wrist. Well, I don't know why, I just do.

No-one else in my family wears a watch. But the cells these days don't show the time properly - the numbers are awfully small and the power savers make the screen go all black. Plus to know what time it is you'd need to dig the cell from your pocket first. So I'm a firm supporter of the watch industry! :D

I wear a watch anytime I leave the house--all day when I worked outside of the home!

I'm completely lost without a watch and have kept all my previous watches because they were either special gifts or had become my 'favorite' watch.

I also like the 'Chicago' song with the chorus, "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?"

Totally a watch wearer. All the time. Even sleep in it!

I must admit, I don't wear a watch! That doesn't necessarily mean I don't want to wear a watch, only that.....my birthday is coming soon and I must get TIM to read this post!!
