QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

April Petitionary Prayers

The great thing, if one can, is to stop regarding all the unpleasant things as interruptions of one's own or real life. The truth is of course that what one calls the interruptions are precisely one's real life - the life God is sending one day by day.  C. S. Lewis

If you've been reading here at Hiraeth for any length of time, you've probably already seen this quote in one context or another.  That's because I like it, and I've needed to be reminded of the thought behind it more times that I care to remember.

Today's the day I go in for my EP study and heart ablation.  I'd sure appreciate your prayers.  This procedure has the potential of being truly life changing, so I am very hopeful and looking forward to giving this a try.  Sometimes it seems like too much to hope for--too good to be true!  And yet, I remind myself that, whether or not they can do the ablation, whether or not the treatment is effective, whatever the outcome, this truly IS the life that God is sending me--day by day.   He sent me the arrhythmias as part of my life up to now.  He has had His sovereign reasons for every skipped beat.

My own prayer is that whether wildly successful, or even if unsuccessful, that I am content in the knowledge that everything that comes my way comes from the hand of One who knows me and knows exhaustively everything I need.

I'm grateful for your prayers and I'll let you know how things went as soon as I can!

Rebecca's April Theme is Petitionary Prayers.  If you have a petition, submit it to Rebecca and she'll post it up along with the rest on Tuesdays and Fridays in April.

I've been praying for you and will continue to do so Kim, trusting that you will continue to know peace and that if the Lord wills the treatment will be beneficial for you.

I've been praying for you through the week and will continue while you're in the hospital. The quote is a favorite of mine too, and something I need to be reminded of daily. All that comes to us is through God's hand. I pray that your heart is steady and strong in faith, whatever the outcome.

In the love of the Lord Jesus,
Rosemary

Even in the midst of your own difficulty, you offer others hope & encouragement & peace. And, a beautiful Godly example.

I've been praying for you and it hit me that today was the day. Oh, how I pray it results in the outcome you desire! Regardless of the degree of success, I know you'll be able to say "to God be the Glory"...truly, a blessing!
