When it Rains it Pours
We had to put the girls in a new kennel when we were gone for a few days because they were all booked up at the vet, where they usually stay. Ivy came home with stress diarrhea (lovely, I know) and today I scheduled an appointment to have a growth taken off Eve's muzzle on Monday. (She's had it before and it turned out OK, so I'm not too worried this time.) Wouldn't you know; she scratched it open and it started bleeding like crazy, so I had to make a quick trip to the vet and she's in surgery now.
Sigh. . .
I've got a prescription for Ivy, so she should be getting back to normal soon. Hopefully, Eve will come home tonight and the biopsy will come out benign like last time.
They've decided to keep Eve overnight. She woke up from the anesthesia OK, but the spot they took off was bigger and deeper and wider than it looked, so they're going they're going to send it away to the lab.
Poor Eve. She hates wearing the "cone of shame" as my husband calls it.

Ouch! I hope everything turns out fine and the dogs are back to regular :0) soon
Thanks, Ellen!
Well, I wish you lived closer and I'd dogsit them for you whenever you went away. I do that regularly. I don't have any grandkids to spoil, so I have to spoil other people's dogs whenever they let me.
I hope they're both back to full health soon.
Aw, that's a sweet offer! Wish we lived closer--and for more reasons than dog sitting!
So how is she doing now?
Hi Jen, thanks for asking! She's doing just fine. We won't know about the growth until the labs come back, so we're trying not to worry. Last time she had one of these it was benign, but the doc said this one had a much harder base and went deeper, so he's a little concerned, but not overly concerned. I'll let everyone know once the results are in.
