What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Political Links?

I've been posting daily political links in the sidebar for almost two weeks now. It's been an interesting experiment. However, it takes quite a bit more time than I expected, so I'd like you to leave me a note in the comments and let me know 1) if you are reading and 2) if you would like me to continue. I am quite happy to continue if there is an interest, but if not, well, I'll just read my daily round of newspapers and discontinue the added step of updating the links.

Either way is fine with me!  My feelings will not be hurt if you tell me, "Nah, don't bother!"

I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend.  Thomas Jefferson

I have read some of the links but getting Hiraeth through my reader doesn't always have me come to the site. Your reminder today brought me here where I gasped over the Fact Checking article. So, while I'm not a regular reader of the links, I do appreciate the effort. If it is taking away from other things, though, then it will not hurt my feelings for you to desist. Thanks, friend.

I read mostly through a feed reader, too, so I don't even see them most days. If you put them in a regular post, I'd look at them every day.

I'll have to echo Elle and Rebecca. I get you in bloglines so I don't get an update when you add a link. Of course, I am interested in political news, but again I'll echo Elle and say that if it's too time consuming, you should do what you need to do. Maybe if you just made the occasional political post when something strikes you, it wouldn't take as much time, and it would get more attention?

Maybe you could do a once a week post with all the links you've collected over the past week....That's a good idea!

I'm not really that interested- I read the articles my son and husband give me to be polite. Sometimes I want to know more- but i can get a real quick fix just listening to NPR. Thanks though for all the work you put into it.

Yeah, I'm in the boat with the other ladies. I've remembered to read a few of them, and with your prompting, did today. The "facts check" was interesting, wasn't it? Sheesh.

Sure has been a lot happening in your neck o' the woods, hasn't there? And it looks like it will be ongoing for the foreseeable future. Messy stuff all over. Yes, Illinois politics is in a class of it's own for corruption. It's like a soap opera--something new everyday.

I like Rebecca's Idea to put 'em in a single post for us. If you're inclined and have time!
