The (Little) Walking Man
Friday, March 13, 2009 at 07:01AM
John sent a video to our cell phones last night of Elliott proudly walking behind the Fisher-Price truck we bought him for Christmas. His smile was absolutely priceless.
I'm one of those near Luddites; I frequently complain about all the evils and unintended consequences of the rapidly changing technologies that gobble us up before we know what happened. But I must admit that even though I've loudly proclaimed that the world just doesn't need another new cell phone that has one more new and entirely unnecessary function, I am very happy that John's phone has a video recorder with sound because now I can watch and hear my grandson's delight at his new-found freedom.

My brother used his blackberry to share a video of my niece walking. I love it. So darn sweet....
Glad you got the play by play of the new skill!!
I agree! There is great grandparent appeal in modern technology!
I wish we could see it!
Good for you, Kim! I think I told you (or blogged about) my love of the webcam so that I can talk to my 3-year-old niece - who, when she saw me, thought I was coming right over to play with her..... :)
I'm a Luddite, too, but I sure did enjoy watching my three grandchildren in Japan "meeting" their new cousin, Daniel, via Skype on Friday night. Their smiles and shouts of delight had me grinning from ear to ear.
I well remember telling my husband I thought he was CRAZY for wanting a computer at home. And the internet? WHATEVER would we use THAT for?
Little did I know.
We skype-d with my sister once. Amazing. Straight out of the Jetson's. Technology is wonderful!
