GRRRrrr
I just spent the better part of two hours writing my next Lenten Thoughts post. It took me so long that when I finally clicked 'save and close' and submitted the post, my browser had timed out and I had to sign back in to Squarespace. In doing so, there was an 'internal error' and I lost my post.
I've already spent a big chunk of time on this post and I know that I won't have that much time to devote to blogging again until maybe Thursday.
Sigh.
Note to self: in the future, compose big, time consuming posts in OneNote.
Squarespace to the rescue!
Have I mentioned lately how AWESOME Squarespace customer service is? When I received the error message, Squarespace asked me to report it. I copied and submitted the error code and asked if there was any way I might be able to retrieve what I had lost.
I've already received a response from Squarespace (wow, that was fast!) and they were able to retrieve my post. I'll have to clean up the html a little and add in the links, but I can do that over my lunch hour.
Yippee! Yeah, Squarespace!!

Sorry, Kim! I feel your pain- I am always amazed when I get a post to work right.
Oh, that's great! I didn't know they could do that. Go Squarespace!
I try to remember to click the save button every five minutes or so when I'm composing a long post. It's become a bit of a habit at this point, and it's saved me a lot of grief.
Ouch. Been there, done that... Actually just today I too lost a post I had been writing for a considerable while - but not two hours long! Sometimes when I'm unsure what the system will do when I hit "save" or "publish" or anything, I first copy-paste the text into notepad or other external program. That way, if the unwanted happens, I at least still have the text available.
