It was with great regret. . .

. . .that I threw away a rather large container of very yummy homemade chicken soup this morning. The soup had gotten pushed to the back of the fridge and forgotten. Unsure of whether it was safe to eat, I did what I always do--I played it safe and pitched it.
Today, my friend, Janet, sent me a really great link to a website that will tell you how long you can keep something in the fridge or freezer. StillTasty assured me that I made the right decision when it came to that chicken soup.
So, check it out. Definitely worth bookmarking.

Oooh, I hate it when that happens. I had to toss some yummy tomato soup the other day-for the same reason. Pushed to the back and forgotten, it unfortunately languished, not to exist another day to warm hungry tummies. Sigh. But thanks for the link. I need to check it out.
Oh yippee! I love this link...
I always play it safe--my kids think too safe. But ever since I ate a piece of mouldy bread and upchucked until the blood vessels on my face and in my eyes broke, I'm just not willing to risk it! I will definitely check out the link...
Yeah, life goes on the the frigid temperatures- and bacterias grow! I throw out way more than I should- but who wants to take chances? thanks for the link!
My mum made a GREAT soup last week and just as it was about ready a vase of sunflowers toppled over, off a shelf above, into the soup. We chose not to eat sunflower soup. We tossed it before even tasting it.
