The National Energy tax will create a 75% increase in gas prices (not a 75 cent increase--75%) and double your electric bill. And get this; nearly 85% of the taxes collected will go to special interest groups--not the national coffers.

True, we don't need to know the ins and outs of this bill. The simple fact that our representatives do not know the ins and outs of this bill is enough reason for us to oppose its passage.
I emailed my representative, Kim. I have tried to convince my state's senators that the path they are taking is the wrong one, but they ignore me (for the most part). I have even gotten one letter from one of my senators telling me that she's going to do what she wants despite my opinion, but I will keep hammering. Thanks for the update!!

I applaud your courage in posting political opinions on your blog.
Gov't of the people, by the people, and for the people has died. We now have gov't by the elite, for the elite. It is outrageous. I have called several "representatives" but they already know better. Perhaps we have to hit rock bottom before we can turn it around.
God save us from the idiots in Congress.
