Morning Update
When I went out the front door this morning with Ivy, I saw three babies in our side yard. Mama was in the yard with them and Papa was up on the gutter in surveillance position. I'm hoping the fourth is in the bushes.
Soon after, when I brought my coffee out to my reading chair, I heard a huge, birdy commotion outside. Fearing the worse, I peeked out in the front yard and saw a gray cat skuttling across the street with four or five Robins dive-bombing it.
Maybe the babies WILL make it after all! I had no idea that Robins pulled together like that. It was cool to see.
I also saw five baby squirrels playing in the street this morning.
My peonies are finally blooming! The plant was given to me by my neighbor, Sharon, about five years ago. It was just a little 'finger' of a start and has taken a long time to get going. Last year we had two or three blooms. This year it is going to be full of blooms!
Today, Sam's Commencement ceremony marks the end of 13 years of home schooling. I've been so busy with end of the year tasks and shopping and cooking and cleaning for Sam's Open House this afternoon that I've barely taken the time to stop and think about it all. After all these years, it's hard to believe this stage of our lives is over!
I expect to feel meloncholy tomorrow. Good thing my niece is coming for a visit on Tuesday!
Lots to do before church. . .
