What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Conscience is something, in a sense, apart from man. It has been put in him by God; it is a reminder of the voice of God within him, an inward monitor, and a man cannot really manipulate his conscience. He can go against it, but that is not manipulating it. It is possible, as this Apostle says again in writing to Timothy, for the conscience to be seared “with a hot iron”. But nevertheless it is true to say that the conscience is an independent witness.
Martyn Lloyd-Jones (God’s Sovereign Purpose)

November of Thanksgiving 2010

Can you believe it's November 1st already?  It seemed as though October would last forever.  This has been the mildest, most beautiful autumn I can remember for a long time.  I'm so thankful for the warmish, coolish days, windows still cracked to let in fresh air, warm air toasting my feet as I stand in front of the register making my coffee.

I only collected leaves once this fall and they are still hiding in the Strong's Concordance, waiting for me to 'do' something with them.  It's a testimony to the rare quality of this fall that I haven't felt the need to 'gather and save'; rather, I have been simply enjoying the passing of the days.

I'm thankful for this glorious time of year.

Thanksgiving is a good thing.  Sharing your thanksgiving thoughts with others is a good thing.  I hope you'll join in with me and others in this November of Thanksgiving!

This has been the most beautiful Fall! The days have just passed, one lovely sunny one into another, until it begins to feel like they could go on forever... which we know, of course, is not true. But its wonderful while it lasts!

We had our first snow today, and it was so beautiful as it fell. This is my favorite time of year too!

Is that your Thanksgiving artwork? Gorgeous!

yes, it's the first time I've tried a piece of flourished work. It's got all sorts of problems; I broke all the rules, but it's a start.
