That in Me you may have peace

I awoke before the alarm this morning, my heart pounding; filled with a sense of terror and doom.
I had dreamed of nuclear holocaust. Missile strikes blossoming on a map of the world, trembling fear in the voice of the news anchor. That horrible, familiar nightmare terror of looking for my loved ones and not being able to find them. That jumbled, crazy unreal yet too real world between sleeping and waking.
Drifting awake in my room, my heart jangling and racing, I willed myself to calm down: 'It was just a nightmare. It was just another of your crazy dreams. . .'
And then I remembered. It is Easter morning! Christ arose! I am His and He is mine!
Fear gave way to rejoicing!
In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

Dear Kim - a very happy and blessed Easter to you and your family!
Thankfully, yes - He is the Prince of Peace!! Hope you had a wonderful Easter!!
Ahh, yes, the nuclear holocaust dream. Do you have nightmares often? I'm always dreaming some sort of frightening scenario and then wake up only enough to remember that God is Sovereign and Jesus is King- so I go back to sleep to see Him vanquish all enemies and put the world right.... My husband wakes up and pats me on the back and mumbles something about "your God can whip their god" and I am comforted and all is well again.
An Easter morning awakening is definitely a blessed moment.
Probably not unlike the feelings the disciples had when they realized Christ had risen changing their fear and despair to hope and joy!
