What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Sunday Hymn: Praise to the Lord, The Almighty

PRAISE TO THE LORD, THE ALMIGHTY

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise him for he is thy health and salvation!
All ye who hear, now to his temple draw near,
Join me in glad adoration.

Praise to the Lord, who o'er all things so wondrously reigneth,
Shelters thee under his wings, yea, so gently sustaineth!
Hast thou not seen how thy desires e'er have been
Granted in what he ordaineth?

Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee!
Decked thee with health, and with loving hand guided and stayed thee.
How oft in grief hath not he brought thee relief,
Spreading his wings to o'ershade thee!

Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore him!
All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before him.
Let the Amen sound from his people again;
Gladly for aye we adore him.

Trinity Hymnal #50

This is one of my favorite hymns!  If you click on the link above you can listen to it (and sing along!) and your heart will be lifted up in praise, like mine.

It's one of my favorites too. I love to sing it with a congregation of people who love God!

I love this one too! Its so joyous and full of worship! Plus its one of only two hymns that I sang in my Roman Catholic growing up years that I still sing in church today. And that reminds me of the unchanging nature of God!
