I used to be a blogger
I realized that fact this weekend. I used to be a blogger.
Now I'm a hymn poster and online quote collector.
It makes me feel sad because I really did enjoy blogging but times change, I guess. I'm busy with my business and I'm thankful for that. I really love my job and I am so very blessed to be making a go of it in this economic downturn.
I'm busy with Bible study and family and being a wife and mom and grandma. Life is full and life is good--it just doesn't end up getting posted with pictures on the blog.
I've thought of just retiring this blog--sending it off into the ethernet--but I used to be a blogger. There's a lot of my life on the pages of this blog and even though it feels like a waste of money to keep it going, I'm just not ready to let go of it yet.
So here it sits, neglected. Forgotten for days at a time. And when I do think of it, I feel guilty.
Because the truth is, I don't miss it enough to do anything about it. I just wish I did sometimes.

I understand other things taking priority over blogging. But I do with you were still blogging regularly. :)
I'd be glad to help move you to a free blog service, so that you can keep the archives but not have to worry about that monthly bill.
Thanks, Jules. I might just take you up on it! I've got my business website hosted on Squarespace so I'll have to figure out what that does to my preferred billing.
I appease my feelings of blog neglect (my own) by thinking there are seasons of blogging. I used to write way more than I do now, and perhaps in a few months will have the time and inclination to do so again. Like you say, other things do take precedence!
I hope you don't pull the plug on Hiraeth, though, and hope that you'll return to "being a blogger" again! :)
After all, we do need regular updates on Elliot and Maddie....
I have enjoyed getting to know you through your blog, after stumbling upon it "accidentally" a couple of years ago. Now I count you as one of my friends, even though we've never met in person, and I do enjoy your Facebook posts. Perhaps you've moved from blogging to FB. It's just another season of life.
6 years worth of blogging is a lot of time and effort invested considering people will continue to hit on your blog through searches. And who knows what life will bring in the future for you? You may come back to it full speed one day.
I love the clover.
