What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

League Championship Predictions

baseball.JPGTom sent in his picks for round 2 this morning:

OK, here we go with predictions round 2 – the league championship series.  Let’s hope this turns out better than the first round where I correctly picked one out of four.

Arizona Diamondbacks over the Colorado Rockies – I see that Colorado is the trendy pick to represent the National League in the World Series.  I don’t think so.  The winning streak lived as long as they were playing every day.  It’s easy to take it one at a time when things are going well.  Now they’ve been idle for four days and reality has set in.  This won’t be so easy.  The Diamondbacks pitching will make the difference.

Boston Red Sox over the Cleveland Indians – even though the Tribe is my favorite team I have to go with the Red Sox.  Besides, I picked against Cleveland in the first round and they beat the Yankees in four games.  Maybe this will turn out the same way?  This one is difficult because the pitching is pretty even, but I think Boston has better overall starters and a much better closer.  Cleveland has a more balanced lineup but I give the edge to Boston.

What should you glean out of this?  It probably means a Colorado – Cleveland World Series.

My picks are easy. . .now that my Cubbies are no more, I have just one small adjustment to make.

Cleveland Indians over Boston Red Sox

Colorado Rockies over Arizona Diamondbacks

This should be fun!   Anybody want to predict who will come out on top in this round?
