What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Play Ball

baseball.JPG The division series matchups are set.  The Cubs open on Wednesday in Arizona against the Diamondbacks while the Indians start on Thursday at the Jake versus the Yankees.  I admit I feel a little more confident about the Cubs than I do the Tribe.   The National League is without a dominant team.  All four teams have holes in their lineups.  This gives the Cubs hope.

In the American League the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004, the Angels won it in 2002 and the Yankees have made the playoffs 13 straight years.  Cleveland hasn't been in the playoffs since 2001.  I'd feel better if we'd played the Yankees close during the season, but an 0-6 record makes me nervous.

If you like history or root for the underdog then you're pulling for a Cleveland-Chicago World Series like I am.  The Indians haven't won it all since 1948; the Cubs since 1908.   That makes them the two teams that have gone the longest without winning.

Here are a couple of links for both Cubs and Tribe fans.  This one gives you the 99 things every real Cubs fan should know.  For all you Tribe fans here are 95 reasons to love the Tribe
