What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

My morning route. . .

. . .is no longer the shortest distance between my side of the bed and the coffee pot. It now starts with plugging in the Christmas lights. Sunroom tree, dining room tree, office tree (turn on computer), front porch tree, kitchen lights, coffee pot.

I'm getting good at finding the receptacle by feel because I like to plug them in in the dark and then, VOILA! Lights!

I tried to take a few pictures of the trees without a flash this morning. They didn't turn out great, but I'm sharing one with you anyway.

We don't have a tree up yet - we get a live tree the week before Christmas - but I love the sounds of your morning routine!

I bet the lovely light from your Christmas decorations just starts your day with a smile. I like to turn ours on first thing in the morning too.

Ooooh! It's so gorgeous! I would abandon economy of movement for that kind of beauty as well.

So cozy-looking! We don't have our tree up yet - we always put it up on our second boy's b-day on the 10th.

Hey Kim,
To get a really glowy picture of your tree, set your camera on something stable and use the self-timer function. That way the shutter can stay open longer without the risk of you accidently shaking the camera. I think your photo is beautiful! I do the same thing--first thing I do in the morning is plug in the tree(s)!

Kim, this sounds like me! I love to turn on the Christmas lights before the sun gets up and certainly after it has set.

I've missed you, my friend. I'm just now catching up with visits and hope to post before Christmas.

XO,
Jill
