What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

According to my father

According to my father, there's only one thing worse than being Irish. . .

. . .and that's NOT being Irish!

I've always wanted to be Irish! The closest I get is being married to an Irish name, Shay.

I'm going to use your Irish Soda Bread recipe tonight.

Hi Kim,

I did try toasting it this morning--not too good. For a dense bread with a dry crumb, toasting it actually made it a bit soggy somehow. But it was a fun breakfast, regardless.

I hear everyone's Irish on St. Pat's Day. I'm wearing green. Does that count?

Yes, I'll be showing off my green in the next post!

hehehe

Can you tell I'm having fun? Just a little Irish mischief.

Everyone can be Irish on St. Patrick's day! I recently heard somewhere that more people claim Irish ancestry than any other!

And you know what they say about the Irish--if you trace your Irish roots back far enough, you'll find you are descended from kings!

Is that a picture of your Dad? I wasn't able to tell if that was him in the photo.

Yes, that's him, but I think it was taken not long after we moved to Ashland, so he looks really young in that picture.

I love the pewter picture frame--I saw it at an Irish gift shop and it reminded me of my Dad. Do you remember the tatoo of a shamrock he had on his forearm? All the men of the family have them. Kevin got one, but I'm not sure if his son, Tim, ever did.

LOL! Sounds like your dad's a lot of fun.

I'm German and Norwegian, is that close enough? I am wearing green today, too!
