Am I the only one. . .
Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 10:35AM
. . .who notices glaring mistakes in nearly each and every post once I hit the publish button? Sometimes more than once?
Why can't I see the mistakes in the Preview mode? Why do sentences seem clear before I publish and completely convoluted when I see them published on the blog?
Is it just me?
And another question. . .how many times do you think I will have to go back and "fix" this post?
[I see one already: "nearly each and every?" What does that mean?]

No, you're not the only one!
The ones I really hate are the obvious ones that I leave up all day.....
I used to notice typos that other people make, but never my own. Now I just ignore them all!
"nearly each and every" totally works for me,but then have you seen my writing style (or lack thereof)?
LOL, Kim. I completely understand. Every time I post, I check it and notice something to alter. :)
No, no, no, NO you are not the only one. Before I became a blogger I was an excellent typist, but now...what happened?
I have posted things and edited up to 3 times in the past. After 3 if there are still mistakes I leave them. Sometimes, I have to admit, the mistakes keep me awake at night until I am compelled to go back to the computer and change things. Argh! The torment of perfectionism!
It's the computer screen. I never read anything on the computer screen properly. I just go into scan mode. It's a vulgar form of communication and so breeds vulgarity...A little dramatic I know but still there is nothing like a pen and paper!
I can never edit anything properly without printing it first and who's going to do that for a blog? Not me anyway.
Kim, just know that we still love you and think you intelligent even if your posts contain typos. AND we know we will receive the same from you in return.
Well, it seems I am in very good company.
Kate, I think you're on to something. You said:

I know what you mean about "scan mode." One can click one's way through a lot of internet pages in short order. When I read something substantive on the internet I always print it out and take it to my reading chair. It seems my mind engages when my seat hits the leather. That's not to say that I don't enjoy my frequent whirlwind trips through the blogosphere, I do. But some posts just need to be printed out to be appreciated!
