What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

All the purposes of man have been defeated, but not the purposes of God. The promises of man may be broken—many of them are made to be broken—but the promises of God shall all be fulfilled. He is a promise-maker, but He never was a promise-breaker; He is a promise-keeping God, and every one of His people shall prove it to be so. This is my grateful, personal confidence, "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me"—unworthy me, lost and ruined me.

Charles Spurgeon, A Defense of Calvinism

Wintry Weather

freezingrainandsleet.JPG

Freezing rain and sleet all day.  Again.

And I forgot to buy laundry detergent and shampoo when we ventured out last night.  Sigh.

Eve wouldn't go off the top step this morning.  I KNOW she has to "go" but she'll hold it all day before she goes out in a cold rain.  And it looks like she'll have to, doesn't it?

What's your weather been like?  What do you like to do on a cold, wet, freezy sort of can't-go-anywhere day?  I usually do laundry and bake.  I guess I'll start my Christmas baking.   Recipes to follow.

The weather? I went for a walk this morning and wished I had left my jacket at home. Warm at six in the morning. December in Texas.

We lived in KY for a few years and I remember shopping for our Christmas presents in shorts and a tee shirt! Does it ever snow where you are?

The weather? Walking at six-thirty this morning, I wished I had left my jacket at home. Warm. December in Texas.

Hi, Kim: Our weather here has been partly to mostly bleah, with intermittent periods of downright cold and spitting. :) We've had a bit of snow here and there, which would make it tolerable, but for now, it's just cold. Michigan weather is like that, though. And if you don't like the weather here, wait a minute.... Hope you have a nice cozy day!!

:D I grew up in Ohio and we used to say the same thing about the weather. They say it in PA and IL, too! I guess the weather changes frequently all over!

It's in the 70s here in Alabama.

that sounds wonderful! We haven't been able to take a walk for several days. The dogs would like to take a walk in your neighborhood! (so would I!)

Brrr for sure. When there is ice I do not drive! I like to bake and put lots of music on...
I had to venture out this morning to get laundry detergent. It wasn't too bad-the roads were salted-but it made me nervous. I haven't done a bit of baking yet, but the house is almost clean!

I'm going to quit complaining about the weather here. It's 20-something right now, but it's bright sunny and dry as leftover toast.

Oh, and Rose and Leslie, thank you so much. I'm going to go cry now. :)

I'd love to see the sun. Maybe sometime on Wednesday. Tomorrow's forecast is just like today's. . .
