What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Conscience is something, in a sense, apart from man. It has been put in him by God; it is a reminder of the voice of God within him, an inward monitor, and a man cannot really manipulate his conscience. He can go against it, but that is not manipulating it. It is possible, as this Apostle says again in writing to Timothy, for the conscience to be seared “with a hot iron”. But nevertheless it is true to say that the conscience is an independent witness.
Martyn Lloyd-Jones (God’s Sovereign Purpose)

Today's Forcast:

Brilliant Sunshine

with 100 % chance of a light layer of dust inside.

Well, maybe not so light. . .

Oh, I do have a love/hate relationship with this old house!  One of the many things that most delights me about our old bungalow is the abundance of windows.  There are so many uncurtained windows in this house that if there is any sun at all to be found, it seems always to be streaming into the house from some direction, glinting off the glass top tables, reflected in the mirrors, bouncing back and forth from one room to another.

However, if you've ever lived in an old house, you know that you must constantly fight the never ending, ever present, unyielding dust.

I've learned to live with dust as constant challenge and can generally overlook it unless, of course the forecast calls for "brilliant sunshine."

Oh, that did my heart good to see another's dust! Our log home is a haven for twirling dust--the logs harbor it. Not to mention the hair of a certain lab. The sunshine that streams through our dormer window spotlights all of it, to my utter dismay. Yeah, I like seeing your bit of dust.

Oh, Kim, I'm fighting that fight with dust all the time. Even more so now, perhaps. Our house, too, has lots of windows--we rarely have a light on inside until it gets dark outside.

LOVE the picture of your front door--makes me want to stop by and knock on it for a visit. XO

I thought everyone had dust like that! You should see my bookshelves! lol And I'm with Jill...your front door is so so so welcoming. :)

Oh this post did my heart good!! THANK YOU! Dust, hot air heat, dust, dog hair, dust, sometimes I beat myself up too much, feel guilty but there is just no end to it! I will NOT give up my dogs! Thanks Kim, you eased my burden today! Gotta love you girl!

I understand about the dust problem, having lived in old houses, too.

I LOVE brilliant sunshine streaming through the windows, especially this time of the year when the sky is so often grey and dreary. Dust or no dust, the sunshine can really lift my spirit!!
