Giving Thanks in November

Spilled milk in the living room tonight. Lots of it.
I'm thankful for my shampooer.
Much moreso, I'm thankful for the spiller of the milk (who shall remain nameless) who graciously accepted my apology and forgave me for over-reacting and being crabby and yelling and generally acting like a jerk.
I've been forgiven of so much. I pray that I will always be willing to forgive as quickly and as generously as my son.
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

The mistakes are for humans. Don't be so hard with yourself.
The award sill wait for you.
I ment "still" not "sill".

why do we react like that? I always hate myself later- and don't get any benefits from the whole crabby episode- except , perhaps, like you the opportunity to be repentant and accept forgiveness. I think I should have learned from these opportunities - until the next broken teapot or spilled milk. I am thankful along with you- for forgiveness and for sons that are helping us to learn it/
I couldn't begin to count the many times I've had to ask my children's forgiveness, not to mention the times I should have but didn't! Like your boy, they are quick to forgive and extend grace to their imperfect mother...
