What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Giving Thanks

It's Sunday.  I am thankful for so many things this day.

I am thankful for our little church, for the work that God has begun among us; for our order of worship, for the hymns and prayers and confessions.  For the declaration of forgiveness.  The reading of the Word. The preaching of the Word.  The benediction. The fellowship we enjoy with Christ and with each other.

I'm thankful, too, for Sunday afternoons; for the quiet house, for my short nap, for the time in the Word; for time to think and reflect.

I am thankful for Sabbath rest.

I, too, like benedictions. I don't think we say them often enough- they should be the words we say at the door when our guests leave. I used to say a benediction to Jordan each day as he headed off to school. I'm going to start that up again! Thanks for reminding me, Kim!

I'm thankful for our church as well - it's a lovely little rural fellowship.

and for Sunday naps.

and family get-togethers - either brunch or supper.
