What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Giving Thanks in November

Today was  amazing; November 3rd with temps in the mid 70's. It was a busy day so today I will do a list.

I am thankful for:

the beautiful warm weather

the storm of leaves that came pelting down all day long

the smell of a crunchy carpet of flimsy yellow leaves

the thirteen windows of my sunroom that afford me a panoramic view of the falling leaves

a roaster full of chicken cacciatore

having the whole family here for dinner

kitchen sink baths with Elliott

the delight of unexpected email from a cousin I haven't seen in many years

sitting on the patio long past dark with Tom last night

watching the jets, one after another, fly over our neighborhood as they begin their approach at O'Hare

hearing the big jet engines throttle down

seeing the stars peeking through the cloud cover

the end of the first grading period

the three grading periods that are left in our home school

my dishwasher

a freezer full of home cooked meals

laughing with Tom

a 'routine' day full of happiness

that happiness is routine in our home

that the election is tomorrow

and God is Sovereign over the affairs of men.

Rebecca is rounding up our thankful posts again today.  I've read many of your posts already, but I read on the fly so I didn't take time to comment today.  However, I am grateful for the way the thankful thoughts of others carry my own heart along with them.  I'm heading over there now to read the rest of today's posts.  See you there!

Thankfulness for contentment and happiness! This is my favorite way to be thankful as well- because there is so much to thank God for in each moment, I get behind if I wait for the climax ! I'm thankful that I'm getting to know you better!

"God is sovereign over the affairs of men," the busyness and joy of the day and the national and international affairs.
