What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Giving Thanks in November

It's November 7th and, other than one Sunday after church when we had guests for lunch and one or two chilly mornings when we've run one cycle to take the chill off, we haven't had to run our furnace.

I'm thankful that we haven't really had to heat the house yet, but I am also grateful for the sound of the 'click, boom, hummmmm' of the furnace starting up that we will be hearing again very soon.

It snowed and sleeted and rained and slushed for a short time this afternoon, but our house is still cozy and warm and the furnace is standing by, ready to be called into service--probably in the morning for at least one cycle.

What are you thankful for this evening?

Rebecca, of Rebecca Writes, is rounding up our thankful posts. If you'd like to add your posts, send your links to Rebecca.

I'm thankful Chad and Ally came from supper and Chad gave me a small tutorial on blog feeds!

My "thankful" is similar to yours ~ I'm thankful for our woodburner that Bill will be starting up pretty soon. I love sitting right in front of it and getting toasty warm on a cold evening!

We've only had to run the furnace a couple of times so far this year as well, saving lots of money. Combination of unseasonably warm weather and warm clothes. Yesterday was chilly though and I did turn the furnace on this morning to take the chill off. Its supposed to get down to 29º tonight. So much to be thankful for. ;-)
